QR Codes oh my!

Through twitter I learned how to use QR codes in my classes. I have been busy making google forms and you tube videos to use with the QR codes. It has been so much fun! As a physical educator in NC we now have to gather concrete data to show growth with our students. Next week we will be using them. We will spend time teaching our 3-5 students how to use them.

 Mr. C and I will be using QR codes through out the school year to gather data on what the students knew before we taught as well as after the unit. Here are some pictures from the process.

The first day...

Well today was a GREAT day! And by great I mean wonderful, inspiring, exciting and uplifting. The first day of school always reminds me as to why I love my job! 

Here are the top 10 reasons I love teaching Physical Education:

10-I get to learn and grow professionally all the time.

9-I love to see children smile when they walk into my gym.

8-I love to see kids sweat! (Yes, kids sweat in my gym)

7-I love to see a child be successful at a skill they once were unable to do.

6-I love wearing tennis shoes every single day.

5- I get to play and have fun every single day!

4- I can dance anytime I want to!

3-I can make a world connection from what I teach to something out in 'real life' 

2-I feel like I was born to teach PE, other than being a wife and mother it's what I was put on this earth to do.

1-I love children.

So what's your top ten reasons you do what you do for a living? Sit down and take a moment to discern what they are. 

What a great day and what a great way to start off a new year.

Earlier this week I also got to introduce BME Staff to twitter. I ran out of the buttons I made very quickly. Everyone was very excited and supportive. My next goal is to make Twitter posters using QR Codes. I think I have fallen in love with QR codes! WOW! They are super easy and can do really cool stuff.

ON THE HOME FRONT

Our gym is shaping up nicely. I was busy today, hot gluing our word wall and pedometer posters. We are also going to have a "SHOE TROPHY." I got this idea from none other than.... Twitter! Each class with have a poster and each time the entire class wears their tennis shoes they will get a sticker. The class with the most stickers at the end of the month will get the SHOE TROPHY! How exciting. We will start PE the first day of school so be ready with those tennis shoes! Mr. C. and I have been busy planning the year and we are looking forward to your return. We will see you Thursday for the Meet and Greet and then bright and early Monday morning!
